Joe grew up in Newcomerstown, Ohio; graduating high school in 1984.
After graduation, he enlisted in the United State Navy. Joe served as a Hospital Corpsman in naval hospital emergency rooms in Charleston, SC and Okinawa Japan. Joe also served as a Fleet Marine Force Corpsman, helping to provide medical care to United States Marines.
After Joe’s service with the United States Navy, he put his emergency medical experience to work as a Firefighter/Paramedic, rising to the rank of Fire Captain, at the city of Grandview Heights, a suburb of Columbus. Joe retired from the fire service after 25 years.
Joe brings a unique set of skills and experiences to Shai Hess Commercial Real Estate. Joe has been performing real estate management over the past 20 years. Due to his experience as a Firefighter, Joe understands the complexities of building construction, inspections and mechanical systems; as well as an ability to relate to people in a friendly caring manner. Joe earned his Real Estate Broker License in 2020 and earned his Ohio Sales License in 2014.
Joe graduated from Franklin University with two BA’s: Accounting and Healthcare Administration. Joe also achieved the highest level of certification within the real estate management industry in 2018, after completing a rigorous educational program through the Institute of Real Estate Management. He also holds a Certification as a Distressed Property Manager. Joe understands the needs of real estate investors and strives to meet the strategic plans of the real estate investor.
Joe and his wife, Laura, along with their three children reside in New Albany, Ohio.
